Recording within 60 days of calving helps you:
Identify cows with high SCC early in lactation
Measure your dry period performance. This is critical for selective dry cow therapy
Track your best performers as the breeding season approaches
Your calving season started around 25th January. For your herd, this means you should do a milk recording week commencing 15th March.
Your second recording of the year should be arranged for week commencing 14th May. This will ensure any cows not calved for the first recording will still get tested within 60 days of calving in the second recording.
