Mature Stock Bulls Required is the number of bulls required to serve the “Potentially empty cows”
Note : “Potentially empty cows” are cows that are not served to date, plus a percentage of the cows that have been served but may not be pregnant.
As the number of “Potentially Empty Cows” decreases, FarmOps automatically calculates the “Mature stock bulls” required for the remainder.
The ratio FarmOps uses is one mature stock bull required to serve 20 “potentially empty cows”
If the number of “potentially empty cows” is not evenly divisible by 20, the number of “mature stock bulls required” will be a decimal number.
How to use this number?
Continue to use AI until the number of mature bulls available on farm matches the number of “Mature Stock Bulls Required”
For example, if there are 5 stock bulls running with the cows and FarmOps is showing 7.2 “Mature stock bulls required”, keep using AI until FarmOps shows 5.0 or less “ Mature Stock Bulls Required”.
